Today started just fine. I got the kids up and we had breakfast. I was planning on running into town before my friend brought her kids over this afternoon. I got everyone ready and out the door we headed with plenty of time to do our shopping. It has been raining here and not very cold so the ground in a swamp of mud. As I pulling out of the driveway I turned the wheel to the left and got sucked into a mud pit. My van was extremely stuck. Well my Dad has a 4 wheel drive Chevy so I thought no problem I can hook the van up and get it out by myself without a problem. I got the truck and got everything hooked up. I started to pull and something ripped off the van. OOOOPPPPSSSSS!!!!!!
I called my dad and he told me not to do anything he was coming home from work. Well that takes about 45 minutes so I sent a picture of the part I pulled off to my brother who works at a dealership. He told me it looked like the transmission fuel/coolant line. I was told not to start my van but to just have it pulled into the dealership to be fixed. So I called a neighbor and he brought his super big truck to help me out of the mud. It took him and another neighbor to get it out. It was really stuck.

So we left the van in the driveway until my Dad got home. He looked things over and told me it was the power steering line and he would have it fixed in a couple of hours. So luckily there wasn't any serious damage and my amazing Dad was able to fix what there was. It didn't cost me anything so I am super happy. Other than that the day has been pretty uneventful. I did laundry and just hung out since I couldn't run my errands. After dinner we did family home evening. We talked about consequences. I am not sure how much of it actually got through to the kids but I am trying. We had a delicious pie for dessert. Since I skipped on the greasy pizza for dinner I did have a piece of pie. I got the kids in bed without many tears tonight. Well except for MaKenna. I can't find her binky and so I figure tonight is as good a night to break her from it as any. Poor little girl is upstairs just crying. Now it is my relax time and so I am going to get some water and watch some tv with my Dad.
Thank goodness for dad! My substitute for not being there. This was indeed an interesting day and I am amazed how your days seem to grow with such excitement. Well, I am glad to see that you guys fixed that van and didn't get lost in the mud. I love you and will keep reading the days of events that seem to unwind. Love you!
