Day 20

Wow what a long and exhausting day. It started somewhere around 1:30 this morning or maybe it never ended from yesterday. I am not sure. McKayson woke up screaming for Mommy. He never does this. Even as a baby he slept through the night and I never knew he was even cutting teeth. So right away I knew something was wrong. I got him and put him in bed with me. I listened to him breathing and it was a little uneven and seemed he was having a harder time. He started to cough and it was the nasty croupy cough. He has had croup 4 times so I know that cough. I knew I was going to have to take him to the doctor. Somehow even with a pull up on he still managed to pee in my bed. So about 4:30 we came downstairs. He went back to sleep but I was unable to. About 6:30 he woke up. I called the doctor at 8:00 to make an appointment. I have to drive 35 miles just to see the military doctor here. It is a little frustrating but this doctor is so good that I won't complain. So the morning was spent getting everyone ready so we could leave at 11:30. I took McKadi to school and headed to Twin Falls. I was looking for some empty soap pumps so I stopped at the dollar store before the doctor appointment. The kids were all good for me even Kayson. So they got a little treat. They each got to pick a dinosaur. I also got the girls a princess plate with matching cup and Kayson got a Batman plate set. We got to the doctor for Kayson's 2:15 appointment. They took his vitals and he was 30 pounds. My big boy. The doctor came in to see him. He asked me what was going on and I told him I figured he had croup again but his cough wasn't barky like it was during the night. So he listened to him and than had him do some breathing treatments. Kayson did so good. He didn't fight anyone and just sat there for the full five minutes it took to do the treatment. The nurse was amazed. The doctor came back in a listened to his lungs again. He said it wasn't croup and that after all the treatments and such that Kayson has pneumonia. Great. Just what I wanted to deal with. He also had diaherria and a fever. So it was 3:30 before we left the doctor. Kayson is on steroids and antibiotics for the next two weeks. We stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home to get Kayson's medicines and some more groceries. I bought the girls some new pajamas and the movie Bolt. We had to wait for 45 minutes for Kayson's medicine so we were able to get all our shopping done. I swear that is all I do is buy more and more food. Growing kids. By the time we left Wal-Mart I was dead tired. We got home and I put all the groceries away. My mom was great and helped me. I gave Kayson some yogurt and his first steroid treatment. Than I feed the rest of the kids. After dinner the kids watched Bolt while I did some more laundry and tried to relax. By 7:20 Kayson and Kenna were ready for bed. I gave Kayson his first dose of antibotics and off to bed they went. I let the girls finish their movie before sending them to bed. I ordered Daniel's anniversary present last night and am excited for him to get it. I started working on his Valentine's Day present today and should have it done this weekend. Hopefully he loves them. Well I am dead tired. I have been awake for a very long time and am ready to crash. Until tomorrow.
