Day 21 Sick Little Guy

Today really hasn't been a bad day. I have been really productive and Kayson actually did pretty good for most of the day. He slept all night. So I thought for sure the steroids had really helped him. We had breakfast and got the house all clean. I make the girls clean their room, do the dusting, and clean the windows on Saturday. Kayson usually has to help but I didn't even try to make him. To my surprise he helped Kayla clean the windows. Wow I thought this is good. After that the kids all played. Kenna took an early nap but was up for lunch. They had lunch and were right back to playing. I got to finish Daniel's Valentine's Day present and work on some other project. About 4:00 Kayson started to break down. I made dinner and he didn't want to eat or do anything. By 6:30 he was asking me to put him in bed. I gave him all his medicine and up to bed he went. He slept for about half an hour and than just started screaming. I went up to get him and he wasn't even a wake. He was hurting so bad he was crying in his sleep. I brought him downstairs and we sat on in the rocking chair. He just kept tossing and turning and crying. My heart was breaking. I didn't know how to help him. Finally I asked my Dad to call his home teachers so Kayson could get a blessing. I had thought about it last night but he seemed so much better this morning I didn't feel it was necessary. Here he is trying to sleep on the chair with me. His cheeks are so red. That is one sign he is sick. So I got him some juice and changed him into some light pajamas thinking that would help him. Brother Badger came over and helped with the blessing. He worked with Daniel's dad for many years. It hasn't even been an hour since the blessing and Kayson is a sleep on the couch. He isn't tossing and turning or crying. He is still coughing but that is to be expected. I think it will be a long night. The doctor said if he hasn't improved by Monday that I need to take him back in. Hopefully he will have a better day tomorrow. I just worry about him. The girls are all doing well. Kenna has a little bit of the same cough but other than that is acting fine. The girls have been wonderful helpers. They have kept each other busy and let Mommy take care of Kayson. Kenna is going to bed now and hopefully I can get a little bit of sleep. Until tomorrow.

  1. I hope you're able to sleep some! I'm sorry Kayson is sick! I'll keep him in my prayers, as well as you, your crew and the Rock! Miss you!
