Day Five
Wow. What a crazy busy day I have had. It started with getting MaKayla to preschool this morning. Right on time so everything was going great. I had parent teacher conferences with McKadi's teacher at 10:50 so I had a little over an hour to get everyone else ready. I came home and got McKadi's hair done and got in the shower. McKadi was instructed to watch McKayson and MaKenna. I got dressed and got clothes for the other kids and headed downstairs after a quick shower. To my surprise MaKenna was covered in chocolate and there were animal crackers all over the floor. McKadi was sitting on the couch watching television. I asked her why she didn't come get me and she said she told him not to do it. So there was the first mess to clean up. Amazingly I made it to McKadi's parent teacher conference and had a good visit with her teacher. She said McKadi is doing very well in school and making lots of progress. She is also a popular girl and friends with everyone. I had to get MaKayla from preschool at 11:30 so I rushed from the school and was only five minutes late picking her up. After lunch Hadley brought her kids over to have a play date. McKadi is always asking to play with Madison but since she has school in the afternoon it is hard to get together. The girls had so much fun. McKayson and Logan are both two and little boys. They fight over the cars and trucks. I had a nice visit with Hadley but while she was here McKayson made another mess. Apparently the toilet got plugged up and he felt he needed to unplug it with the plunger. Wet toilet paper is a pain to clean up. Our play date ended a little after 2 and I had to get some things done before taking the girls to dance at 3:30. Right before heading out the door McKayson said he needed to go to the potty so I sent him upstairs while I finished getting MaKenna ready. Five minutes later I still did not see McKayson so I went up to get him. He had taken a whole bottle of shampoo and lathered his hair, the toilet seat, the floor and his coat. That was fun to clean up. I got the girls to dance on time and headed to Wal-Mart with McKayson and MaKenna to do some grocery shopping. Everything went really smooth until almost the end. We were getting our vegetables when the entire store went black. Luckily it only lasted for a few seconds before the backup generators kicked on but the kids both had terrified looks on their faces. We checked out and headed to get the girls from dance. I finally got their costumes paid for. I am excited for their recital even though it isn't until May. We hurried home in the yucky rain/snow. I made some yummy chicken and got all the groceries put away. The best part of the day was talking to my hubby. I love our daily phone calls and it is really helping with the separation. While I was on the phone with him I received a couple of e-mails. One informed me that MyCaa had be approved but I would not be able to use it until the next semester. The second was from CSI telling me that my financial aid would not be approved for four weeks. However they do have a payment plan but not one that includes books. So I have to put off going to school for another semester. Dang it. Oh well. I am sure I will be plenty busy with the kids that the time will go by fast. The kids had a great time talking to their Daddy. MaKayla informed him that he was getting abducted by aliens. I think her words were, Daddy the aliens are coming down and put you in a net and take you up in the sky." She cracks me up. The kids got to stay up later tonight because no one has school tomorrow. They enjoyed that. It has been a busy crazy day and I am glad it is over. I am exhausted and going to rest for tomorrow. So until next time. Good night.

Wow, it seems your day has been pretty hectic compared to mine. I have been blown away with Mckayson’s fascination with toilet paper. You sure do have the patience and I give you credit for that. My little Makayla is hoot with a big imagination! I was rolling with laughter when she told me about being abducted by aliens. My day wasn’t too bad and I only was yelled at once today which is a good thing. This 3-43 unit is ate up! The morale level with the soldiers is low and they all hate their leadership; wow! I spent the day doing inventories and cleaning up dirty offices. It’s amazing when people become complacent and not even know it. A 1SG yelled at me for cleaning up the 3-43 Battalion Commanders office! Too many chiefs and not enough Indians! We had PT for the first time in four days and I have to say I have my hands full with out of shape soldiers. I had two soldiers fall out of a run within the first mile and one complaining of knee pains. The worst part is that all of these soldiers are under 23 years!!! Amazing when a 34 year old is schooling them in the arts of physical conditioning and loving it! Then I ran into an issue with soldiers accusing each other of stealing their clothes within the tents we are currently living in. That was a quite a conversation and a learning experience for me. It is astonishing when you think a soldier is telling the truth and come to find out he is the accomplice to the crime. Ultimately the issue was resolved and I walked away with a better understanding of soldier’s personal issues. I have been watching what I eat due to the unlimited free food that is available 24/7! It was a good day and enjoyed seeing my beautiful wife and cool kids!
