Day 37 Valentine's Day

The holidays are always the hardest part about deployments. I tried really hard to make today special for the kids and to stay busy so I didn't have time to feel sorry for myself. I woke up earlier than usual to make the kids breakfast. I made eggs, bacon, and heart shaped pancakes. The kids loved them.

When they came down for breakfast at each of their seats was a book and a small box of sweetheart candies. They were all excited. After breakfast I had a few things to do before getting McKadi to school. I made lunch for the kids. Heart shaped peanut butter and jelly heart sandwiches, yogurt, and string cheese. They thought they were in heaven. I also got my diaper bag in the mail.

I love it. I took McKadi to school early so she could hand out her Valentine cookies to all the people at her school who aren't in her class. She loved doing that. I stayed until she went to class and then headed to Wal-Mart to do some shopping. It was crazy there. So many people were doing last minute Valentine shopping. I headed back to McKadi's school so that she could give Grandma her Valentine's rose. While I was there McKadi got a rose and balloon from her Daddy. She was so excited. I headed home with the groceries. I got stuck at the railroad tracks for at least half an hour. It was frustrating. When I got home there were balloons and roses for McKadi, and MaKayla. There were chocolates and a balloon for McKayson. They came from their Daddy. They felt so special. MaKenna kept trying to eat her rose. It was funny. I started dinner and waited for McKadi and my Mom to get home. McKadi had such a good day at school. She got lots of candy that is being taken away first thing in the morning. I made Sesame Chicken Stir Fry for dinner. It was really good. After dinner McKadi did homework and we got ready for Family Home Evening. Tonight we talked about love and the meaning of Valentine's Day. Everyone got to say one thing they loved about everyone else. I also told the kids that Heavenly Father and Jesus love us and they always will. I want the kids to understand that we need to show love to everyone everyday and not just on Valentine's Day. After FHE was treats. Surprise cupcakes with hearts. Like the kids need anymore sugar. Now we are just finishing up and getting ready for bed. It has been a good day. I love my husband and my children so much. They are my world. The only thing to make today better was if Daniel was here.

I always have issues with the pictures. Maybe someday I will figure out how to rearrange them with out deleting them.
