Elder Bednar

Last night was a wonderful evening. Daniel had a chance along with three other members of the Armed Forces to present Elder David Bednar with a coin. That is a major tradition in the military. It usually comes with some sort of accomplishment or high recognition. Daniel did great. He was nervous. After the presentation Elder Bednar addresses the congregation. We were expecting to have a formal talk but he surprised us with two hours of Questions and Answers. It was a wonderful and amazing experience. I have not been in Elder Bednar's personal presence for almost six years. He was President of Brigham Young University of Idaho while I was a student there. I remember listening to his talk. What a wonderful man. He is witty and very straight forward. One of the sisters asked about the process of receiving mission assignments. He started off by stating that he was goes to do away with some of the Mormon Myth. It was neat to learn how they assign the missions through prophecy and the spirit. It was a wonderful experience. I am so thankful that I was able to go and take my children. They may not remember but I am still teaching them the importance of an apostle and the prophet. As we were leaving the house McKadi pointed to a picture of President Monson and asked if that was who we were going to see. It is neat that she is learning. It was a wonderful experience. One that I will cherish forever.
