Day 74 New Addition to our Family

Wednesday Day 74. Well today was a long day. Somehow I got suckered into jury duty and could not get excused from it. So early this morning I headed to the court house. We had to be there at 8:20. Well we didn't even get started until 9:45. We had to sit on this hard wood chairs that were very uncomfortable. I had to pee so bad and couldn't even leave the room. It was jury selection and that seemed to take forever. Okay it did take forever. We had a break at 11:00 and than lunch at 12:00. I went to Taco Bandito and had lunch all by myself. It was pretty lonely. After lunch it was back into the hard chairs and the little room. I have to say it was interesting. The selection process ended a little after 2 and I was then excused and did not have to sit on the actual jury. The way people are does amaze me. It is amazing what people say and do and they way they dress for court. The lawyer for the plaintiff had to have been at least 90 years old. He was beyond needing to retire. He couldn't hear and was having a hard time remembering the questions that he had asked. I felt bad for him because he was such a grandfather figure. He actually made me laugh quite a few times. He told us he had been practicing law for over 50 years. That is a long time. My back hurt really bad by the end of selection. After jury duty I decided to head to the pound and look at the dogs they have there. MaKayla has been pretty sad about leaving Mr. Wiggles in Texas. I was actually surprised to find a litter of puppies there. I feel in love with the runt and took her home with me. Her name is Carmel because of her eyes. She is so mellow. She doesn't bark and has only had two accidents in the last 36 hours. I am actually proud of her. She is good with the kids and they love her. McKadi is excited about being responsible for her. She feeds her and puts her on her leash to go outside to use the potty. Hopefully I can train her without Daniel being here. I think she will be a great addition to our family.
